Easy Party Punch for the 4th of July Alcoholic

6 small bottles of frosty patriotic punch with red, which and blue drink in each

What could be more cute than a layered punch on the 4th of July?  These are really simple to make, look adorable and taste great!

The key to making this recipe work is to look at the sugar content of each item you are pouring!  You want to go from the highest sugar content on the bottom to the least sugar on the top in order to keep the layers separate!

When you pour each layer, be sure to pour very slowly over an ice cube or over the back of a spoon.  The slower you can pour, the better.

It's best if these are made just before serving!  The layers will stay separated for a bit however the ice will begin to melt.

Canadian fans… you can leave off the blue and use a high sugar bottom layer (cranberry cocktail) and a middle layer of white with a low sugar red top layer such as G2 (by Gatorade).  I would suggest making the middle white layer a little bit thicker in order to see the definition a bit better!

And… I had a little helper who stood by my photo shoot waiting so she could drink them!  :)

Frosty Patriotic Punch! Red, White and blue layered drink!

These are the perfect drinks to serve for the 4th of July, delicious layers of red, white and blue!

Prep Time 10 minutes

Total Time 10 minutes

  • 4 cups ice or to fill your glasses
  • equal amounts of each Red, White and Blue Drink as listed below

Red layer, choose one of the following

  • 2 cups cranberry cocktail
  • 2 cups Hawaiian Punch
  • 2 cups fruit punch

White layer, choose one of the following

  • 2 cups 7 Up
  • 2 cups Sprite
  • 2 cups Sobe Pina Colada

Blue layer, choose one of the following

  • 2 cups G2 (Gatorade with low sugar) for a top layer
  • 2 cups regular blue Gatorade (middle layer)
  • 2 cups Powerade Zero
  • Fill each glass, cup or bottle to the top with ice.

  • Read each of your labels to see which drink has the highest sugar content, this will go in the glass first (mine was cranberry cocktail). Tip the glass to the side and slowly pour your first layer until your glass is ⅓ full.

  • Choose your second highest sugar content and pour very slowly ensuring you are pouring over an ice cube to avoid mixing. Fill to ⅔ full.

  • Repeat with your remaining layer. Serve and enjoy!
